Thoughts
Before you ask, DIXANADU is a completely made up word. Mana created it, and he says it means "Moi dix Mois' ultimate utopia." Well, okay then; I accept this wholeheartedly, because I think it is also Moi dix Mois' best album (so far). Not only is Mana at his best when it comes to balancing two guitars with classical music, but Seth is also showcasing his beautiful voice here. In Lamentful Miss alone, he goes from rockin' to singing like he's performing a lullaby. Actually, in a lot of songs, Seth is almost forced to sing softly as opposed to all the shouting in Beyond the Gate.
If you are going to listen to any tracks on here, listen to Xanadu. It's gorgeous. The rerecordings and Lamentful Miss are great too, and the instrumental interludes are sweet and eerie simultaneously. Compare this stuff to Dix infernal, and you'll see that Moi dix Mois has evolved tenfold in terms of harmonizing and creating beauty in music with an artform all its own.
