Lamentful Miss is Moi dix Mois' fourth single and is the first to be released with the current lineup. After their little excursion with the guitars in Beyond the Gate, Mana had to relocate a balance between classical and metal in order to create the emotions he wanted to evoke with this single.

Thoughts

I'm not going to lie. I am completely and hopelessly in love with the Lamentful Miss track on here. It's beautiful, it's dark, and it tears me apart every time I hear it. With the vocals, it's almost sinister, though the instrumental version is equally beautiful and the same emotions are brought about regardless of whether Seth is singing or not. The two guitars really bring it home; it's like they're battling over something forbidden. You don't know what it is, but they both really, really want it.

The other two tracks are covers of older songs, Perish originally from Nocturnal Opera and forbidden from Dialogue Symphonie. This time they feature Seth's voice rather than Juka's, and twists that make the newer versions sound darker and eerier, to the point where they linger in the back of your mind long after you hear them.
